DESCRIPTION
Schizostylis coccinea ‘Oregon Sunset’ forms clumps of narrow, sword shaped green leaves that create a tidy, upright fan of foliage through the growing season. In late summer through fall, slender stems carry open, star shaped flowers in salmon to coral tones, each bloom composed of six narrow petals surrounding delicate stamens that extend slightly beyond the floral center.

The species originates from southern Africa, where it grows along streambanks and moist grasslands. In garden settings, ‘Oregon Sunset’ is valued for borders, water side plantings, and late season displays, where its bright flowers bring color to the garden as many summer perennials begin to fade.
